Green Hydrogen in Nepal

Chairman & Managing Director of Pashupati Renewables, Dr Sandip Shah, participated in the Nepal Green Hydrogen Summit 2022. This first conference on Hydrogen energy was organized by MIT Group Foundation, Global NRN Foundation, Ministries of Finance & Energy, Government of Nepal at The Soaltee Hotel, Kathmandu on October 10 and 11, 2022. The program was opened by the Honorable Ministers of Finance & Energy. The Ambassadors of UK, Australia, and Germany attended and pledged their support.


Dr Sandip Shah (PRPL) moderated a panel discussion on “Green Hydrogen Tech: Opportunities in Nepal” with panelists Devesh Singh (IFC), Tulika Raj (SungreenH2), Dr Biraj Singh Thapa (Kathmandu University), Dr Ram Lama (Kathmandu University), Lucas Bossard and Filippo Pellacani (Topsoe AS), and Marcoen Stoop (Nel Hydrogen).


Speakers including Dr Shesh Ghale (MIT Group Foundation), Prof Dr Bhola Thapa (Kathmandu Univ), Dr Madhav Karki (Advisor to PM) shared their vision. The sessions titled Urgency, Technology, Finance, and Policy spread over two days had lots of technical inputs from international Hydrogen tech companies. The event saw great interest from national and international banks such as IFC, ADB, Kumari, and NIFRA.
